OMFG, The Twins Beat Roy Halladay!!!1!!1!

Oh, sure the Twins decide to play well now that the games don't really matter anymore (Last night's debacle notwithstanding. Or that series in Cleveland, either). *Sigh*. They beat Toronto ace Roy Halladay for the first time ever. Seriously. He was 8-0 in ten starts against our Twinks. I realize that Doc has been awfully beatable lately, but with the mediocre veteran presence Carl Pavano on the mound, and the mediocre lineup the Twins were trotting out, the odds of Doc continuing his unbeaten streak were certainly in is favor. And at least for the first six innings, that looked to be the case. Doc was mowing 'em down, and while Pavano wasn't quite as impressive, he managed to limit the Jays to one run. Then Orlando Cabrera homered (!) off of Halladay (!) to tie the game. Justin Morneau decided to stop being useless and help his buddy win the MVP team actually win a game for once, blasting the go-ahead home run off of Halladay in the eighth. Then the Twins piled on a couple more runs in the ninth, and Twitchy recorded an uneventful save (why, it's almost as though he's forgotten about that bad outing against the White Sox). You know, I would actually start believing in this team if they weren't 5.5 games out of first with only 23 games remaining.

The Twins are one game over .500 for what seems like the billionth time this season. This has to be some sort of record, but I'm way too lazy to research something that doesn't really matter all that much, anyway. Being historically mediocre isn't anything to get excited about, unless the Twins somehow manage to sneak into the playoffs and win the World Series. Hey, it could happen.

Carl Pavano beat Roy Halladay. Now that's a headline you don't see everyday. Yes, Doc's been beatable lately but he sure shut down the Yankees the last time we faced him, so I'd consider it quite an accomplishment that the Twins did the deed!

Holy moly! You guys DID IT! And it was AWESOME TO WATCH!!! WOOHOO!!!
Now win more...get to the playoffs.
Hopefully Morneau can snap out of his funk and get back at it. Still hope Mauer gets that MVP!
